I am from Peru. I have 8 years of experience taking care of children. When I was an au pair, I took care of a 4-year-old boy and 6-month-old baby boy and while I was there, we welcomed a newborn baby girl. The family was very nice and I always felt at home with them. I stayed with the family for 2 years because I moved to Virginia. In that city I started working with a lovely family that just had their first baby girl. I started working with them when the baby was 2 months old. I wasn’t required to drive since she was a baby and we mostly stayed at home. Some of the things we did were, going to the park, going for walks, tummy time, reading time. I like reading to babies because I believe this helps them to speak sooner than expected. When she was 3 years old, we welcomed a baby boy into the family who I took care of since he was 2 weeks old. With him things were a little bit different since he was not an only child, we went to different activities with his sister, ballet classes, swimming lessons, playdates etc. He loved it though. I also took him to music classes and art classes.
In my country I was a teacher for an elementary school.

The most rewarding thing for me about being a nanny is seeing the little ones feel loved and protected not only by their parents, but also by their caregiver. They feel secure and I love to see them learn new things.
