WHAT IS A DOULA? |
Doula Job Description - There are 2 kinds
of services provided by Doulas and some Doulas provide both.
Birth Doula - A Birth Doula will help
you prepare for the birth of a child, including developing a "birth plan", educate
you about the birth process, provide emotional support, and other similar services.
If desired, she will also be present during the birth.
PostPartum Doula - PostPartum Doulas
offer support services and education to the mother after the birth, including lactation
education, circumcision care education, emotional support, and other similar services.
Postpartum Doulas typically do not directly provide care for the child/children.
