Candidate self-description:
I'm a very outgoing person. I graduated this past May from Northwestern College with a degree in Psychology and Missions. I currently am part of an AmeriCorp program working at an adolescent substance abuse center. I'm originally from Minnesota, but am hoping to stay out here after my year of service is done in July. I've held many daycare and nanny positions and have absolutely adored all of the children I've come into contact with. For the past 5 summers, I've been working at a Bible Camp from grades Kindergarten to High School. At the Daycare that I've worked at for the past 4 years, I've worked with mainly newborns to 6 years old. I have a passion for children and I think we can learn so much from them. I'm a very creative person and am always on the go. The kids will never have a dull moment with all the crafts, games, and songs I know. I'm a very open and responsible woman and would love the chance to work with you.

Additional information:
I come from a very small town in Southeastern Minnesota. I hold myself to a very high standard and have strong values. Establishing relationships is very important to me and I'm a huge people person. I should also mention that I'm a Christian and integrate my faith in every day life and situations. I'm open to talking to anyone and learning from everyone.
Candidate's challenges of position:
As mentioned before, I hold myself to a very high standard, so I think that is just the most challenging of all. It's hard for me to be fully satisfied with my work despite all the positive feedback that I've always gotten. I'm a perfectionist, but also know my limits.
Candidate's rewards of position:
Plain and simple, the joy in the children that I met. They are so just full of energy and life and it fills me with hope whenever I see them just smile. I think that we can all learn so much from children if we simply just listen, which is one of my biggest things that I pride myself on: just simply being present for the children with whatever they would want and listening to their ideas and thoughts. I like to ask questions, also to keep their minds working and going and to not simply just settle.
