Growing up in Sacramento, CA, Monta Fleming's favorite pastime was to problem-solve. From helping neighborhood friends make their own lunchboxes to starting her own pillow-making and housekeeping business as a teenager, Monta always found a way to exercise her creative problem-solving skills. So it's no wonder that when faced, like so many others, with the challenges of working, raising a family, and finding care for her newborn child, she was able to turn a challenging situation into a winning solution for herself and thousands of other families.

Monta and her 2 brothers were raised by a single mother and she witnessed early on the challenges her mother faced balancing work and home-life. It was through her own mother’s determination that Monta learned to be independent, hard-working, and have strong family values. Despite Monta’s degree in Psychology and Marketing, she went on to pursue 17 years in the corporate world as a self-taught computer programmer, eventually advancing to Director of IT (Information Technologies) for all Web, database, and computer systems for multi-national corporations.

In 1993, Monta met her ultimate life-partner, Sean Fleming, while she was vacationing in Hawaii. They married in 1998 and soon decided to start a family of their own. Monta thought she was prepared for any obstacle that came her way. However, with the birth of their first son, she experienced an unexpected shift in priorities. The once incredibly career-minded woman found herself torn between the need to be home with her newborn son and continuing to dedicate herself to the career she loved. Since staying at home full-time was not feasible, she decided to do what she felt was the next best thing by hiring a nanny to help care for their son. She never imagined the challenges she would encounter finding the “right” nanny for her family, and after rounds of unsuccessful nanny placements using over-priced nanny agencies, Monta knew there had to be a better way.

So with an “A-ha!” moment that suddenly seemed obvious, Monta decided to combine her Management and IT expertise with her extreme passion for providing over-the-top customer service to create the better way to find care – GoNannies.com! Like most entrepeneurs starting a new business, she continued to work a full-time demanding job while working all hours of the night to launch a trustworthy company other families could use to find the help they needed.

With the explosive growth of the company, Monta soon realized that the need existed for people to find trustworthy, affordable care online while still getting the personal attention and care they deserved during such an important process. She soon expanded her team to a group of like-minded customer service fanatics who, along with the current team of GoNannies staffers, continue to share her vision of offering a better way to find care. Supported by her top-notch Management Team, Monta has grown the company to expand into Canada, as they also continue to expand their services to offer greater and greater features, value, and conveniences to the constantly growing pool of loyal customers.

While continuing to manage a successful business, Monta is now the mother of three children – Joel, Sydney and Madison. As the ultimate “Mom-preneur”, she is actively involved in her family, community, and other Entrepreneural groups and endeavors. Monta volunteers for PTA, puts her love of cooking to good use by preparing meals for those in need, and volunteers her time to local children's and other charities. Monta also serves as an Expert Advisor on multiple household help issues to many Organizations and groups, and is a mentor for other “Mom-preneurs” seeking guidance.
